Azadi - Stories Without Walls

Who we are?

We are a group of six students from the MA Course in "Human Rights and Multi Lavel Governance" of the University of Padua.

The idea of this blog came out as a project in the framework of one of our courses.

Azadi?

How to  speak about migration issues? A lot has been already written and told, but we wanted to share our point of view.

In the history of the mankind, humans  have been in constant movement. There is not place nor a person on this earth that can say is entirely pure. We all have background of different places, families that came from another city or country.

So why it has become such a huge problem right now? When all the greatest economies in the world have found the foundation of their wellness on the cheap, must of the times free, hand labor of migrant workers, since the Roman Empire and the slaves that brought from all over their realm, passing through the Spanish and English colonization, to the industrial revolution and finally arrive to our days.

Migration is as part of us as the air we breathe.

We choose the persian word  آزادی (Azadi) meaning freedom, to express our vision that every human being has the right to overcome borders, aching to a better future and new possibilities.

The Blog

Each of us has choosen different topics under the same umbrella of migration issues, according to personal interests. So, we will present the issues of the Human Capital Flight, Human Trafficking, Gender EqualityRohingya Refugees.
